Winter Wear

For Day 3 of our Heritage Advent Calendar our Library & Digital Assistant Jude Ramm gives you… formal winter wear in ‘Hand Coloured Fashion Plates 1770-1899’ from the Sanderson Collection. Anyone would be hard pushed not to be the talk of the town in this beautiful ensemble. From the dainty shoes, complete with pom-poms, to the upper-face mask.  Of course, we would swap out the fur for faux fur, but you’d still be sure to cut a dash promenading in Roundhay Park this season.

Why not come to the Art Library and see what other outfits you can discover in the Sanderson Collection (maybe something to make for the Otley Run?). The collection features a variety of rare, printed materials concerning vintage fashion, including illustrations, photographs, magazines, books, and ephemera. The materials cover several time periods: the earliest part of our collection dates to the 1770s, whilst the latest dates from the 1950s.

See you tomorrow for Day 4
