It’s Day 10 and we really need to start thinking about those Christmas outfits, Jude Ramm, Library & Digital Assistant has been raiding the Art Library closet for something a little bit glam.
This Christmas 1958 edition of the ever-glamorous Vogue is billed as the “Young Idea party portfolio” (possible title of my biography?). It contains such Yuletide glamour as…’Christmas Night Looks’, ‘Regency Evenings’ (an exposé of five of the seasons most richly beautiful great-occasion dresses), ‘Lingerie: The Pretty Present’, and some rather marvellous Christmas Decorations (for the coming season or for any special party). Alongside the wonderful articles you’ll find some classic advertisements, such as ‘The Miss Mary Cove Treatment for the Removal of Superfluous Hair’. We invite you to come to the Art Library and lose yourself in the pages of this sumptuous festive delight!
